Setup and Troubleshooting Guide for Arlo Base Station

The Arlo base station is used to connect the Arlo cameras to the internet in a secure way via the home router, providing long-range connectivity and the best battery life for the cameras. It is low powered and designed for Arlo devices. It is required to connect an Arlo camera with an existing wireless network. You cannot connect the Arlo camera directly with an existing wireless network.





ü  Connect Arlo base station with the internet.
ü  Connect the base station to your router using an Ethernet cable.
ü  Connect the power adapter to the base station and plug it into an electrical outlet.
ü  Now turning on the base station by pressing on/off button.
ü  Wait for two minutes to let the LED green to make sure the base station is connected to the internet.

Arlo base station is showing offline; How can I troubleshoot it?

Before starting troubleshooting, first, make sure whether your system is online. Newer Arlo Base Station has a single LED while older base stations have three to five LEDs. If you are not at the same location as your base station, open the Arlo app or log in to your Arlo account at myarlo.com website.
ü  if you can review video feed from each of the Arlo Wire-free cameras, the base station is connected with the internet.
ü  if you see any error message, showing as the base station is offline, your base station is not connected to the internet.

How to troubleshoot base station:
 If the base station is showing offline, follow the troubleshooting steps in the following order.

1. Check Ethernet cable:
You need to confirm that ethernet cable is connected with the base station and router properly and you are using the same ethernet cable that came with your system.

2. Check the power adapter:
confirm that the power adapter is securely connected to the back of the base station and plugged into the outlet.

3. Try to connect another device with the same internet that is connected with your router directly.
4. Power Cycle your base station by unplugging a power adapter from the outlet and reconnect it with a power outlet.
5. Check your router DHCP settings.
6. You also need to check firmware and firewall restrictions.
7. Make sure that port 443 and 80 are open on your router.
8. at the last, you can perform a factory reset on your base station.
